Early morning, transfer to Nepalgunj airport for a short flight to Simikot. Simikot is the gateway to Kailash Yatra by helicopter and sits at an altitude of 2,910 m. The day is free to rest and acclimatize. If time permits, enjoy a short acclimatization walk. Overnight stay at Simikot with all meals provided.
After breakfast, take a scenic 20-minute helicopter ride from Simikot to Hilsa, flying above lush valleys and the Karnali River Gorge. After immigration clearance at the border, walk 30 minutes to reach your vehicle on the Tibetan side. A 45-minute drive brings you to Taklakot (Purang) for overnight stay and dinner.
Today is set aside for acclimatization at 4,025 m altitude. Rest, hydrate, and prepare for higher altitudes. You may take a light walk or meditate amidst the tranquil Tibetan surroundings. Overnight stay at the hotel in Taklakot with all meals included.
Today, begin your spiritual journey towards Lake Manasarovar, a 100 km drive from Taklakot that takes around 1.5 hours. En route, stop briefly at Rakshas Tal for panoramic views. On arrival at Manasarovar, relax and enjoy lunch. Later, perform parikrama (circumambulation) of the holy lake by vehicle and take a holy bath followed by rituals on the banks. Overnight stay at lakeside guest house.
After an early breakfast, drive to Yama Dwar (Tarboche) – the starting point of the Kailash Parikrama. Begin your 12 km trek to Dirapuk, walking alongside rocky cliffs and majestic views of Mount Kailash’s north face. This part of the trek is spiritually charged and visually breathtaking. Overnight at a basic guest house near Dirapuk.
Today is the most challenging and spiritually rewarding part of the Yatra. Begin trekking early to cross Dolma La Pass, the highest point of the journey. Steep ascents and descents are part of this trail, and you’ll pass sacred sites like Gauri Kund. The trek continues for 22 km to Zutulphuk, where you rest for the night in a basic guest house.
After breakfast, walk about 8 km to meet your vehicle and head toward Darchen for lunch. Then continue the journey toward Hilsa, crossing the border back into Nepal. Depending on the time and weather, proceed directly to Simikot. Overnight stay will be in Hilsa or Simikot, depending on logistics and weather conditions.
If staying in Hilsa, take a morning helicopter to Simikot, followed by a flight to Nepalgunj. After arrival, enjoy lunch before driving back to Lucknow, marking the end of your spiritual journey.
